Knee replacement is considered for "end stage" degenerative joint disease. Often, these patients have undergone injections into the joint but the injections are no longer effective. Dr. Minutillo offers several types of knee replacement surgeries based on the specific needs of the patient. Knee replacement may vary in multiple ways. Most commonly, the whole knee joint is replaced ("Total" knee replacement). In some circumstances, only part of the knee is replaced ("Partial" knee replacement). Depending on your specific needs and joint disease, Dr. Minutillo performs either of these when appropriate. Additionally, Dr. Minutillo may consider "press fit" knee replacement in which no cement is utilized in the procedure. Dr. Minutillo also offers robotic knee replacement.
